Stop the grass under swings, slides and climbing frames wearing into bare mud. Rubber grass mats protect the turf where children land and run, keep the area usable through wet weather, and let the grass grow back through so the play area stays green.
Which product do I need?
- 23mm rubber grass mats: 1m × 1.5m mats laid straight onto the grass under and around play equipment.
- Rubber grass mat rolls: 1m × 10.5m continuous runs for trim trails and paths between equipment.
- Interlocking rubber playground tiles: 17mm interlocking tiles, with yellow and black edge strips, for defined play areas.
- Green rubber grass mats: blend in with the surrounding lawn.
- Interlocking grass mats: 0.91m square mats for smaller garden play areas.
Choosing the right surface
The right surfacing depends on the fall height of your play equipment. Tell us what you're installing and its fall height, and we'll advise on a suitable option before you order.
Quick answers
Do I need a sub-base? No. Grass mats go straight onto existing grass, pegged down and tied together.
How long before the grass grows through? Usually a few weeks in the growing season (spring to early autumn), and more slowly in winter.
