Rubber Grass Mat Roll 1m x 10.5m x 23mm

A 10.5m mud-free path in a single roll. This heavy-duty 23mm rubber grass mat is made from 100% recycled rubber and comes as one continuous 1m × 10.5m length, so you can lay a long path or walkway across grass in one go, without stopping every 1.5m to join and tie mats. Grass grows up through the open rings, knits the mat into the ground and leaves a firm, non-slip surface that drains freely and keeps its natural green look. BS EN 1177 certified, wheelchair friendly and held in UK stock.

Roll specification

Laying a grass mat roll

1. Prepare the ground. Mow the grass short and clear any stones. The roll can go on even or uneven ground; filling deep dips gives the smoothest finish.
2. Unroll and let it relax. Roll it out along your route and leave it flat for a few hours, ideally in the sun, so it loses its curl. Weigh the ends down if they lift.
3. Peg it down. Push a plastic fixing peg through the holes about every metre along both edges and at the ends, roughly 25 pegs per roll. Use more on slopes and busy routes.
4. Join rolls for wider paths. Butt rolls edge to edge and cable-tie them through the holes every 30–50cm. Two rolls side by side make a 2m-wide path or car track.
5. Let the grass establish. Keep traffic light for the first few weeks while the grass grows through and locks the mat in place.

For the quickest results, lay it between spring and early autumn while the grass is growing. The roll can also go on concrete or paving as a non-slip, free-draining walkway. It isn't pegged there, and grass won't grow through.

Before you order: a full 23mm roll is heavy, so have two people ready to unload and unroll it. Plastic fixing pegs and cable ties are available separately.

Roll or individual mats?

Choose the roll for long, narrow runs like paths and walkways. For wider areas, driveways and gateways, our 1m × 1.5m rubber grass mats or interlocking grass mats are lighter to handle and easier to fit around shapes. For play areas, the 23mm roll is tested to a critical fall height of up to 3.3m. The surfacing you need depends on the fall height of your equipment, so tell us what you're installing and we'll confirm before you order.
