1. About us

Grass Mats Co is a trading name of Express Matting Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 07000887, VAT number GB987256073, with its registered office at Unit 1B, Summit Works, Manchester Road, Burnley, Lancashire, BB11 5HG, United Kingdom.

2. Our products

We sell rubber grass mats, ground protection mats, turf reinforcement mesh, playground surfacing and equestrian mats, with related fixings and accessories. Product images are for illustration and colours may vary slightly between screens and production batches. Dimensions, weights and thicknesses are subject to normal manufacturing tolerances.

Where a product page states that a product has been tested to BS EN 1177, the critical fall height shown applies only when the product is installed as described on the product page. For play areas, you remain responsible for checking that the surfacing chosen is suitable for the free fall height of your play equipment under BS EN 1176. A copy of the test certificate is available on request before you order.

3. Prices

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT at 20%. Delivery within our UK delivery area is free. If we make an obvious pricing error, we will contact you and you may either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

4. Placing an order

When you place an order you will receive an order confirmation email. A contract between you and us is formed when we dispatch your order. We may decline an order if an item is out of stock, if there is a pricing error, if payment cannot be verified, or if the delivery address is outside our delivery area. If we decline your order after taking payment, we refund you in full.

5. Payment

Payment is taken when you place your order. Accepted methods are listed in our Payment Policy.

6. Delivery

We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. Delivery times and terms are set out in our Shipping Policy. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes to you once we have received full payment.

7. Cancellations, returns and refunds

If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Details of how to cancel, return items and receive a refund are in our Order Cancellation Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy.

8. Faulty goods

If you are a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights if goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose. You are entitled to a refund within 30 days of delivery, and to a repair, replacement or refund after that. Contact us as described in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

9. Installation and use

Laying guidance on our product pages is general advice. You are responsible for preparing the ground, fixing the products securely and using them within the stated load ratings. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by installation or use contrary to our guidance or beyond the stated load ratings.

10. Trade and business customers

If you buy as a business, the consumer cancellation rights in section 7 do not apply, although we will accept returns of unused items in line with our Returns & Refunds Policy. Our total liability to a business customer for any order is limited to the price paid for that order, and we are not liable for loss of profit, business or revenue, or for indirect or consequential loss. Quotations are valid for the period stated on them.

11. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, carrier disruption or supply shortages. If such an event affects your order, we will tell you and you may cancel for a full refund.
