Park on your lawn without ruts, mud or bare patches. Rubber grass mats and turf reinforcement mesh sit on top of existing grass, take the weight of the car and let the grass keep growing through. There's no digging and no sub-base, so most driveways are done in an afternoon.
Which product do I need?
- 23mm rubber grass mats: our recommendation for everyday parking on a grass driveway or verge. Each 1m × 1.5m mat covers 1.5m².
- Turf reinforcement mesh: a 2m × 25m roll (50m²) supplied with 200 pegs, for larger areas used by cars and vans up to 3.5 tonnes.
- Green rubber grass mats: blend into the lawn from day one, before the grass has grown through.
How to lay them
- Mow the grass short and clear any stones.
- Lay the mats (or unroll the mesh) and peg them down. Cable-tie neighbouring mats together so they can't shift.
- Give the grass a few weeks in the growing season to come through and knit everything into the ground.
Quick answers
16mm or 23mm for a driveway? Choose 23mm for cars. 16mm is designed for foot traffic and light use.
Can I mow over them? Yes. Once the grass has grown through, mow as normal with the blades set a little higher.
